Make sure to plan to take your pet to the Rabies Clinic at the Monkton Volunteer Fire Department on Tuesday, March 19th , 2013 from 6:30 to 7:30. The cost per pet will be $15 for the rabies vaccination. Please have your pet on a leash at the clinic. You should bring your prior rabies vaccination papers, also. It is a state law that your dog is to be licensed in the town you live in, but you can get it’s vaccination in any town. All area pet owners are invited to this clinic. It is important to get your pet inoculated to protect yourself, your family and your neighbors.
The Monkton Town Clerk will be available to issue dog licenses to Monkton patrons at the clinic. Dog licenses are due April 1st. Prices before and up to April 1st, 2013 will be $11 to $15 depending on if your dog is spayed or neutered or not. After April 1st, the price goes up to $13 to $19. Special licenses are required for kennels. Check with Town Clerk Sharon Gomez for information at 453-3800 during regular office hours listed on the inside back cover of your town report.
