Vermont Gas Construction Update

Vermont Gas will begin blasting next week (4/11) starting from Post Road and moving north to Hollow Road along the VELCO right of way.  The work consists of drilling blast holes, blasting, crushing the rock and placing in the ditch produced by the blast.  Crews will mobilize on Monday and begin drilling with blasting starting no earlier than Tuesday.  24 hour notices will be delivered on Monday morning (previous notices have already been done).  Vermont Gas says that 16 impacted land owners will get noticed for this work.  This round of blasting should take a week, possibly a bit more.

Clearing in Hinesburg will also continue with plans to move south to Rotax Road possibly by the middle to end of the week.

Engineers from Green Mountain Engineering, hired by the Town to do construction oversight, have completed required safety training by Vermont Gas and will be on site next week for 8 to 12 hours depending on what work is being done.
