The Monkton Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing at 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Monkton Fire Station (3747 States Prison Hollow Road), to take public testimony on the proposed Amendments to the Unified Planning Document (that holds zoning and subdivision regulations).

There will be an informational session from 7:00 to 7:45PM on August 10th at the Fire House prior to the public hearing.

In the Zoning regulations, we restored language describing the RA 5 V district (section 230) that exists on the current zoning district map. The RA 5 V district permitted uses (section 275) and condition uses (290) were also restored.

We have updated the objectives and goals section for the Ridgeline Overlay District (section 230). We made the following changes to align our zoning with state requirements in section 340 for residential building energy standards.

We modified first cut language to identify who is eligible “by right” for a “first cut” (section 376).

The Planning Commission will discuss and vote on any proposed changes after this Public Hearing.

Please join us for this meeting so your voice can be heard as we continue to focus on the important work of updating our zoning regulations. We will also take written comments received by August 9th.
