The MCS School Board will host an information session including a brief presentation followed by an open question and answer period on Thursday November 3, 7:00pm at Monkton Central School gym.   School board members, Act 46 Study Committee members, and ANESU administration staff will be on hand to answer your questions. Please come out and learn more about the unification proposal that you will vote on November 8th.

The unification proposal recommends Addison Northeast Supervisory Union (ANESU) schools become one supervisory district, with one school board and one budget for all ANESU schools. Unification supports many initiatives already underway, and allows our teachers and administrators to focus more time on teaching and learning. In addition, unification continues important progress in consolidating many expenses across the supervisory Union, and allows us to take advantage of tax and financial savings available to districts that voluntarily merge.

The unification proposal is the result of many months of deliberations of a study committee formed from representatives of all five towns (Bristol, Lincoln, Monkton, New Haven and Starksboro). The complete report of the committee including the Articles of Agreement can be found at tiny.cc/unification-report.  Please bring your questions to an information session next week. You can also email comments or questions to unification@anesu.org. We are better together.
