We are pleased to announce our first annual Monkton town fair – to provide an opportunity for town residents to meet their boards and elected officials in person and provide a forum to discuss issues which affect us all.
Monkton residents are invited to gather at the Monkton Central School on Sunday March 2nd from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. This is an opportunity for citizens to meet directly with members of various boards and committees to discuss issues and offer solutions for our town.
The Town Fair is scheduled just before Town Meeting to allow community members who are unable to attend Town Meeting a chance to have input into the proceedings – and to allow the boards and committees to hear what is on the minds of those that can’t attend Town Meeting.
Participants to date include members of the Select Board, Planning Committee, Agricultural and Natural Areas Committee and Energy Committee.
Admission is at least one positive idea for Monkton written on a 3×5 card. There will be blank cards at the door and a ‘ballot’ box to drop them into.
