Boy Scout Haunted Trail

On October 20th, Boy Scout Troop 525 will be doing a Haunted Forest at the Monkton Central School from 6:00 – 8:00. Included will be a Haunting Bake Sale, Scarecrow Contest and a veriety of beautiful carvings. Walk the trail and have a spooktacular time with you local Scouting community. Books wanted for the Russell Library sale

The Russell Library is holding its annual Strawberry Festival, Silent Auction and Used Book Sale fundraiser in the midst of the town-wide celebration of Monkton’s 250th Anniversary on Sunday, June 24th from noon til 3pm at the Central School gym, and we’re looking for donations of used books! Fiction, non-fiction, classics, children’s books, cookbooks, travel books……. all these and more welcome. We’re NOT able to accept encyclopedias, textbooks or magazines of ANY kind or videos (DVD, VHS, or video games). Please drop off items at the library during our regular hours ONLY (Tues: 4-8, Fri: 9-1, Sat: 9-2) or call the library @ 453-4471 to arrange a meet-up. Thanks so much for supporting YOUR local library and see you on the 24th for hot dogs, locally grown green salad and of course strawberry shortcake, along with live old-time music and plenty of titles to enhance your summer reading!
