2012 Statewide Primary Election

A statewide Primary Election will be held on Tuesday August 28, 2012 to vote for candidates for the following offices

  • U.S. Senator
  • U.S. Representative
  • Governor
  • Lieutenant Governor
  • State Treasurer
  • Secretary of State
  • Auditor of Accounts
  • Attorney General
  • State Senators(s)
  • State Representative(s)
  • High Bailiff

Polls will be open at 7 AM and close at 7 PM.  The polling place is the Monkton Fire Station.   You can only vote for the candidates on one party ballot in the primary elections.  Early or Absentee ballots are available until end of business on August 27th.  More details are available on the Statewide Primary Election Warning and on the Sample Ballots.

There was only the single article being voted on in the special election

Article 1: Shall the voters of the Town of Monkton adopt the Unified Planning Document files with the Clerk of the Town of Monkton on January 24, 2012?

The Article passed by a vote of 130 to 128.  Thank you to all the citizens of Monkton who took the time to come to Town Hall and vote!
