This will be a low-key open-house style event to celebrate the Town Forest.
Stop by between 10:00am and 1:00pm at 690 Old Airport Rd., Bristol VT 05443 to experience Monkton’s new Town Forest!
There will be snacks, activities, and the opportunity for guided or self-guided walks in the Town Forest west of Old Airport Rd. If there is interest from visitors a guided visit to the areas east of Hardscrabble can be arranged. The committee is looking for the public’s feedback on kiosk locations and on two potential new trail segments that would reroute around an existing steep section west of the Old Airport Rd. parking area. The new trails begin a few hundred feet south of the parking lot to the right of the main trail. One is marked with pink tape and the other with orange tape.
