A message from the treasurer and tax collector about 2022 property taxes:

Thank you to all who have mailed, dropped off, or presented their tax payments in person at town hall.  For those who have yet to act, this is a reminder of the approaching deadline for timely payment: Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

The treasurer will maintain extended office hours until 7:00 PM (5:00 PM on Friday, 11/11, 7:00 PM on Monday, 11/14 & Tuesday, 11/15 – deadline).  Also, a secure lockbox is located at the rear entrance to Town Hall, adjacent to the library book drop, to receive payments at any time.

We issue receipts for all payments, including those received directly from banks and escrow companies.

Please call with any questions: 802.453.3812.  Thank you for supporting Monkton!

November Election Information Update

Please remember as the election is getting closer that if you plan to vote by mail you were mailed the ballot from the state, however that did not include any local election or voting items including the school merger and other positions that might need to be voted on.

In order to get the local BALLOTS you must request it from the town clerk or come vote in person on election day.

If you are voting in person on November 8th, all necessary local ballot items will be presented to you DURING check in. If you plan on voting in person on election day. Please be sure to bring your ballot that was mailed to you from the state. If you do not bring it, you will have to fill out a Affidavit form to receive another ballot.

We want to make sure all voices are heard on local issues particularly the school merger decision.

Any question please feel free to call or send the town clerk an email.

Sending an email would be best then I will have a written record of who wants ballots mailed. Please let me know name and address to send to.
Thank You
