The clerk will be available to assist with matters online or over the phone.
Limited in person visits will be by appointment only. Please contact us to schedule your visit.   Masks are mandatory regardless of vaccination status.

Town Of Monkton Elected Positions

If you are interested in running for an elected office in the town of Monkton, a list of open or expiring terms is shown below.

To have your name appear on the ballot you must submit a petition with the signatures of at least 1% of the registered voters in Monkton (approximately 17, but it’s good to be on the safe side and get more in case some signatures end up being deemed ineligible). Forms for petitions are available from the Town Clerk. Petitions should be returned to the Town Clerk or the drop box at the Town Hall.

The deadline for submitting a petition is Monday, January 24 at 5PM

You may leave petitions at the town hall so people can stop in and sign, or take it with you to gather signatures on your own. There are already a number of petitions set out for signatures on the table at the Town Hall.

The treasurer will be available @ Town Hall (92 Monkton Ridge) to receive 2021 tax payments as follows:

Thurs 11/11:          8:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Fri 11/12:                8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Mon 11/15:            8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (2021 deadline)

A secure lockbox is located at the rear entrance to Town Hall, adjacent to the library book drop, to receive payments at any time.  Thank you.
