Green Up Day is coming soon!

Green Up Day is coming soon! Bags are now available from the Town Clerk, You can sign up for a route and pick up your bags whenever the Town Offices are open. Don’t forget to grab some gloves at the same time. Last year we cleaned up almost every foot of every road in Monkton; great job, neighbors! Let’s keep Monkton beautiful by doing it again this year.

If you want to wait to pick up your bags and secure your route choice, come find us at the kiosk in the Park and Ride next to the school, from 8 am on Saturday, May 2 until 1 pm.

Did you know? Green Up bags (Greencore bags) are made of 70% post-consumer recycled plastic, and are the most earth-friendly choice. Only roadside and waterways litter is eligible for free disposal, and must be brought in to the Transfer Station in official Green Up Day bags during the 6 days following Green Up Day. Our super Road Crew helps out by hauling the bags to the Transfer Station for us. Yay Road Crew!
