Municipal Building Committee Update

Rather than go through another design cycle where the Town of Monkton is
responsible for the cost of the design process, the Building Committee has
decided to approach a number of design/build firms to design a new Town Hall
and Library complex.  Four companies have expressed an interest in the
project, Neagley and Chase, Naylor and Breen, Breadloaf and DEW.  The next
part of the process is to select not more then 3 of these companies to
receive a Request for Proposal from the Town.  Linc Prescott, who is currently working on the Rokeby Museum expansion,  is helping the Building Committee to prepare this RFP.    The selected design/build firms will generate proposals for consideration by the Town. The Building Committee meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month although during this process intends to meet more frequently.  Please check the calendar for dates.

Monkton Road closing

Monkton Rd will be closed from Aug 13 – 18, 2012 for the replacement of a culvert near the Huizenga farm (between the intersection with Old Stage Rd and Hollow/Boro Hill Roads). See map for location http://goo.gl/maps/m8rO2.

Please note that Old Stage Road is narrow and has poor sight lines. This is not the best option for a detour, particularly for larger vehicles.
