Written into the Memo of Understanding between the Town of Monkton and Vermont Gas is the option for any resident within 300 feet of the pipeline or within 600 feet of any blasting to get their well tested. This testing is done by Continental Placer and should consist of test of water quality and flow. Getting your well tested is informative in itself but it also allows you redress if there are any changes to your well water quality or flow during the construction process. When Continental Placer comes to do the well testing make sure that they take water from a source prior to any filtration system you might have.

Vermont Gas Construction Update
Vermont Gas will begin blasting next week (4/11) starting from Post Road and moving north to Hollow Road along the VELCO right of way. The work consists of drilling blast holes, blasting, crushing the rock and placing in the ditch produced by the blast. Crews will mobilize on Monday and begin drilling with blasting starting no earlier than Tuesday. 24 hour notices will be delivered on Monday morning (previous notices have already been done).
