Charles J. Roumas (Chuck) currently serves as the Town Treasurer. This is an elected position that expires annually.

Chuck can be found at Town Hall on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m and additionally on Thursday evenings from 5-7 p.m.

Chuck maintains the town and school’s accounts, invests money (with the approval of the legislative body,) keeps a record of the taxes voted and pays orders drawn.
Property Taxes:
Monkton’s tax year runs Jan 1 – Dec 31. Only one tax bill is mailed in early September to the owner of record as of April 1. Property tax payments are due in full on or before the 15th of November by 5:00 p.m. in order to avoid delinquent penalty and interest.
