Bristol Road Closing 3 weeks starting Wedesday Sept 9

From our Road Foreman –
“Parker Excavation is beginning work on the Bristol Road culvert project on Wednesday September 9. I know this is short notice but that is apparently the only date that works for them. They will be closing the road and detouring folks for a 3 week period of time.”

The culvert in question is on Bristol Rd between the Monkton end of Hardscrabble Rd and Church Rd, so that part of the road will be closed to through traffic. The detour for Northbound traffic is Church Rd to Mountain Rd, and back on State’s Prison Hollow Rd. For southbound traffic, the detour is Hardscabble Rd.

The plan was to do this earlier in the summer, but with COVID-19 related delays, it was just not possible.

NOTICE

This is notice of a road closure occurring in Monkton, VT. This road closure will begin on 9/8/20-9/25/20 (or slightly sooner).

The road location is Bristol Rd (also widely known as Monkton Rd) heading from Monkton Ridge to Bristol, VT. The detour for traffic heading northbound will begin at Church Rd in Monkton, and the detour heading Southbound will begin at Hardscrabble Rd in Monkton.

The actual work is going to be done on Bristol Road between the Monkton Hardscrabble intersection and the Church Road Intersection
