Thanks from the Monkton Building Committee

The Monkton Building Committee would like to thank all the people who filled out our surveys, came to the Open House, or attended one or more of the three Public Outreach meetings.  Your thoughts, questions, suggestions and critiques have helped create the new Town Offices and Library proposal that we are putting in front of the Town.  We will discuss the bond and the building design at Town Meeting and vote on a Bond Article by Australian Ballot to help fund the construction.  For more information go to www.monktonvt.com/build

Municipal Building Committee

The Municipal Building Committee has met for the first time on April 26th and will meet again on May 24th at Town Hall at 7:00.  Minutes of the previous meeting can be found at here (on this website/Boards and Committees/Municipal Building Committee).  We hope to compile information as we get it on this Municipal Building Committee page.

Municipal Building Committee Update

Rather than go through another design cycle where the Town of Monkton is
responsible for the cost of the design process, the Building Committee has
decided to approach a number of design/build firms to design a new Town Hall
and Library complex.  Four companies have expressed an interest in the
project, Neagley and Chase, Naylor and Breen, Breadloaf and DEW.  The next
part of the process is to select not more then 3 of these companies to
receive a Request for Proposal from the Town.  Linc Prescott, who is currently working on the Rokeby Museum expansion,  is helping the Building Committee to prepare this RFP.    The selected design/build firms will generate proposals for consideration by the Town. The Building Committee meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month although during this process intends to meet more frequently.  Please check the calendar for dates.
