2023 Appointed Positions

Shortly after Town Meeting the Monkton Selectboard begins the process of making appointments to various committees that perform the bulk of the Town’s business.  Many of these committees are actively recruiting new members and the work they do is vital to the Town of Monkton.  This year the following positions will be appointed (‘*’ indicate one or more open positions).

  •  Treasurer
  • Assistant Treasurer
  • Town Administrator
  • Delinquent Tax Collector
  • Zoning Administrator
  • Town Constable (Monkton Resident) *
  • Lister (Monkton Resident) *
  • Development Review Board (2 positions)
  • Recreation Committee (3 positions) *
  • 911 Coordinator
  • Emergency Management Coordinator *
  • Conservation Commission (4 positions, Monkton Resident) *
  • Delegates to Addison County Solid Waste Management District (2 positions)
  • Energy Committee (3 positions) *
  • Agricultural and Natural Areas Committee (4 positions) *
  • Recycling Coordinator
  • Tree Warden
  • Animal Control Officer
  • Green Up Coordinator
  • Web Master
  • Town Forest Committee *
  • Maple Broadband Representative

Town Forest Info Sessions! March 18

The Monkton Town Forest Committee enjoyed talking with residents at Town Meeting day about the latest town forest updates! We look forward to working together on this wonderful opportunity to create a natural legacy for our community.

Just a reminder that we have 2 upcoming info sessions at the new Town Hall to learn more about the project. We will have a presentation, followed by questions/answers and light refreshments. (Zoom option available)
· Thursday March 9th, 7pm – 8:30pm
· Saturday March 18th, 10am – 11:30am
