Bristol Road Closing 3 weeks starting Wedesday Sept 9

From our Road Foreman –
“Parker Excavation is beginning work on the Bristol Road culvert project on Wednesday September 9. I know this is short notice but that is apparently the only date that works for them. They will be closing the road and detouring folks for a 3 week period of time.”

The culvert in question is on Bristol Rd between the Monkton end of Hardscrabble Rd and Church Rd, so that part of the road will be closed to through traffic. The detour for Northbound traffic is Church Rd to Mountain Rd, and back on State’s Prison Hollow Rd. For southbound traffic, the detour is Hardscabble Rd.

The plan was to do this earlier in the summer, but with COVID-19 related delays, it was just not possible.

Work has started on Piney Woods Rd

With the FEMA site visit complete and the go-ahead from them to start work received, the Monkton Road Crew started work on repairs to Piney Woods Rd today.

Piles of gravel have been placed to prevent vehicles from using the road. Please STAY OFF the road and out of the area during the construction period.
