Monkton Paving Starting May 5th

Town of Monkton Highway Department: Notice of 2026 Paving Operations

The Town of Monkton Highway Department will commence the 2026 paving season on May 5, 2026. Pike Industries has been contracted to perform the paving work.

Schedule and Locations
• Monkton Road: Paving will begin at 3367 Monkton Road and proceed to 2712 Monkton Road. Work is anticipated to require approximately three (3) days.
• Silver Street: Paving will commence at 5 Monkton Ridge Road and continue through to 3470 Silver Street. This section is expected to require approximately one (1) day.
• Tyler Bridge Road: Paving will occur between Twin Ridge Road (private drive) and 739 Tyler Bridge Road. This work is expected to require approximately one (1) day.

Please plan accordingly; motorists should anticipate delays and possible temporary traffic restrictions while work is in progress. Roadway access will be limited to one way traffic during paving operations.

New Selectboard Meeting Time

This is a notice that the Selectboard voted unanimously last evening to shift its regular meeting schedule from the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 7pm to the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 7pm. The next Selectboard meeting will therefore be held on May 14th at 7pm at Town Hall.

This decision was made to avoid a scheduling conflict between Selectboard meetings and Mount Abe Unified School District (MAUSD) school board meetings, which were at the same time.
