Multi-Sport Playing Court

Sealed bids for construction of a Multi-Sport Playing Court at Morse Park will be received by the Town of Monkton by mail at PO Box 12, Monkton, VT or in person at the Town Office, 92 Monkton Ridge, Monkton, VT until 1:00 pm local time November 7, 2024 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bidders providing bids by mail shall allow for delivery time.

The Monkton Highway Department has been doing a lot of roadwork on Pond Road and there are a ton of wood chips in the lower parking lot of the school. Wood chips are free but people just need to load them into a truck or trailer themselves.

Monkton Bike/Ped Scoping Study

The Draft Bike/Ped Scoping Study Report describing various alternatives and estimated costs was presented to the Selectboard at its August 27^th meeting. The draft report is available at the Town Office, by contacting Stan Wilbur at town administrator@monktonvt.com or by clicking here.

Pond Road will be closed Monday, September 23rd from 8AM – 3PM for road construction

Starting on September 16th the Highway Department will be working on Pond Road along with Denton Excavation. Roadside work is expected to last approximately 2-3 weeks, please expect minor delays as sections of the roadway will be down to one lane of travel where the crews are working. Citizens are encouraged to contact the Monkton Town Hall with any questions.

Request for Proposals

Design/Build Services

The Town of Monkton is requesting proposals for design/build services to finish an uncompleted room adjacent to the Russel Memorial Library.

Sealed Proposals will be received on or before 1:00 p.m. Local Time on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Monkton Town Office, 92 Monkton Ridge, Monkton Vermont or PO Box 12, Monkton, VT 05469. Sealed proposals shall be marked “Town of Monkton Library Design/Build Services” and addressed to the Town of Monkton.

The complete Request for Proposals with preliminary floor plan and facility layout is available at the Monkton Town Office or by contacting Stanley Wilbur, Town Administrator at townadministrator@monktonvt.com or 802-453-3828.

A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held at the Monkton Town Office, 92 Monkton Ridge, Monkton, VT at 10 a.m. Local Time on Thursday, September 26, 2024.  Modifications, clarifications or interpretations will be incorporated into an addendum which will be provided to all Conference attendees.

Ms. Jenny Austin, PE, Senior Project Engineer with Dubois& King, Inc. Consulting Engineers made a Bike/Ped Scoping Study Alternatives Presentation during the August 27, 2024 Selectboard meeting. The purpose of the public meeting was to present alternatives for potential future pedestrian/bicycle facilities along the project area and solicit input regarding alternatives and the overall project.
