Reminder: Property Taxes Due Monday, Nov. 16 by 5:00 PM

The Town Treasurer is available for extended hours next week, if you wish to make your payment in person:

Monday Nov. 9 – Friday, Nov. 13: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Saturday Nov. 14: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM to be determined

Monday Nov. 16: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Payment may be left in the drop box at the town hall. Payment must be in the box prior to the deadline to be considered on-time.

Also, as noted on your tax bill, taxes may also be paid by mailing to:

Taxes paid by mail must be postmarked No Later than to November 14, 2015. The town of Monkton is not responsible for mailed tax payments not received.

Five Town Act 46 informational meeting November 9, 7-9pm

FIVE TOWN ACT 46 MEETING AT ROBINSON SCHOOL
The Robinson Elementary Board will be hosting a meeting devoted to the details and ramifications of Act 46. on November 9th from 7:00 to 9:00. at our Multi Purpose Room.

The featured speaker will be Nicole Mace, Executive Director of the Vermont School Boards Association. She will discuss the various actions across the state that School Boards and Communities are taking in reaction to this sweeping legislation, and what this could mean for the ANESU. We will also be joined by local Representatives Dave Sharpe, Fred Baser and Harvey Smith who will share their understanding of the problems this law seeks to address and their hopes for the future. The second half of the meeting, or more time if possible, will be devoted to Q and A and discussion. We are hoping for a good turnout from across the district.
