A note regarding 2021 Town Meeting

Things to remember – there is no in person Town Meeting this year. Every article on the Town of Monkton Warning will be voted on by Australian Ballot. The polls will be open as usual from 7AM to 7PM with voting at the FIRE DEPT. If you prefer to vote by absentee ballot, you must request the ballot. There will not be a mass mailing of ballots as there was for the November Election. Just let us know, any time now, that you would like to be on the list to receive an absentee ballot and when those ballots are ready (Mid Feb.), we will mail you your ballots. When the ballots have been printed, you can also come into Town Hall and pick up your own ballot or pick up your ballot and vote early that same day. Our doors are locked but knock and someone will open the door to assist you. All ballots, absentee and in-person voted ballots are tallied and counted on March 2nd. They are all treated the same and counted at the same time. If you have any questions, please let us know, we are in the office Mondays 8-1, Tuesdays and Thursdays 8–1 & 4–7 and Fridays 8-1. The Selectboard will be working on finalizing their warning and budget, to be done by January 25th. Zoom in and be informed on what is being considered. And…. we still need candidates!! Check the Town website for the available offices and the Consent of Candidate Form to get your name on the ballot. Go to monktonvt.com, click on Town Offices and then Town Clerk and scroll down to find that info. The consent form is due Jan. 25th by 5PM in the Clerk’s office.
