Animal Control Officer
Urgently needed
The Town of Monkton would like to hire an Animal Control Officer as quickly as possible. The Animal Control Officer candidate must be good with resolving conflict and able to work comfortably around dogs. Duties include taking stray dogs to Homeward Bound, investigating complaints related to dogs and enforcing the Monkton Dog Ordinance. The Town of Monkton would like to appoint a Lister to fill a vacancy in our 3 member group as soon as possible. Listers are responsible for determining the value and personal property in Town. Listers meet regularly on Wednesday mornings from 8:00 to 11 and hold other meetings as needed to hear grievances and work on reappraisals. More info at monktonvt.com/town-hall/listers/. Development Review Board Assistant
The Town of Monkton Development Review Board is looking for a Development Review Board Assistant who will be responsible for the administrative functions of the Board. This includes application intake and setting hearings, taking minutes at Board meetings, and writing formal findings from decisions made at Board meetings. Amount of hours is dependent on the number of applications received but can vary between 0-5 hours per week. Minutes are taken at Board meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Recycling Committee
The Town of Monkton is looking for volunteers to join the Recycling Committee. The Recycling Committee is responsible for staffing the Recycling Center two Saturdays a month and working with the Selectboard to maintain the site.
