Select Board considering appointments to town committees

The Monkton Selectboard has begun the process of making appointments to various committees that perform the bulk of the Town’s business. Many of these committees are actively recruiting new members and the work they do is vital to the Town of Monkton. This year the following positions will be appointed:

Zoning Administrator                            3 yr term
Development Review Board                        4 yr term   (2 positions)
Recreation Committee                            3 yr term   (2 positions)
911 Coordinator                                 1 yr term
Emergency Management Director                   1 yr term
Conservation Commission                         4 yr term   (3 positions)
Delegates to Addison Co. Reg. Planning          1 yr term   (3 positions)
Transportation Advisory Committee               1 yr term   (2 positions)
Energy Committee                                3 yr term   (3 positions)
Delegates to Addison Co. Solid Waste Mgmt Dist  1 yr term   (2 positions)
Agricultural and Natural Areas Committee        3 yr term   (3 positions)
Recycling Coordinator                           1 yr term
Tree Warden                                     1 yr term
Animal Control Officer                          1 yr term
Green Up Coordinator                            1 yr term
Town Forest Committee                           1 yr term
Web Master                                      1 yr term
Health Officer                                  1 yr term

If you have an interested in volunteering for any of these positions or if you are an incumbent in any of these positions and are interested in being reappointed, please send an email to Selectboard@monktonvt.com, attend a Selectboard meeting, or reach out to any member of the Selectboard. You do not have to be a resident of Monkton to apply for most positions (the Conservation Commission and the Development Review Board are two exceptions).
